Glencoe community! Job Summary: Under the supervision of the
Program Manager for Athletics, Fitness, and Teen Camps, the Takiff
Center Attendant supports daily operations and provides customer
service to patrons at the Takiff Center. Key Job Duties: Open and
close the Takiff Center in accordance with established procedures.
Provide customer service to patrons, including answering questions
in person, by phone, and via email. Assist with facility rentals
and birthday parties, including coordination, set-up, and on-site
support. Support room set-ups by assisting with tables, chairs, and
equipment as needed. Orient potential renters and user groups to
the facility, amenities, and usage expectations. Monitor activities
to ensure compliance with Takiff Center rules, policies, and safety
standards. Perform light janitorial and facility upkeep duties to
maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Qualifications: Must be
at least 18 years old. Previous experience with facility operations
and park district programming is preferred. Must be available for
weekday mornings, evenings, and/or weekends. Ability to lift a
maximum of 50 pounds, if required. Comfortable working
independently or as part of a team; responsible and careful.
CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification required upon hire. All employees
must pass a criminal background check, which the Glencoe Park
District will cover. Required Knowledge: Working knowledge of
fitness center and/or community center operations. General
understanding of park district programs, services, and operational
practices. Required Skills: Ability to communicate clearly,
professionally, and courteously with employees and customers in
person, by phone, and via email. Ability to identify issues,
problem-solve effectively, and respond appropriately as situations
arise. Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and follow
through with minimal supervision. Demonstrated professional
judgment, initiative, flexibility, and creativity. Ability to
positively represent and support the mission, values, and standards
of the Glencoe Park District. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Responsible for opening and/or closing the
facility during weekday and weekend shifts. Assist with daily
operations of the Takiff Center fitness area, including:
Scanning/swiping patron membership cards Cleaning and sanitizing
fitness equipment Demonstrating proper and safe use of fitness
equipment to patrons Perform light administrative duties, including
basic data entry as needed. Wash, dry, and fold fitness towels to
maintain cleanliness and availability. Assist with preparing rooms
for special events, birthday parties, and facility rentals. Support
special events, including set-up, tear-down, and garbage removal.
Perform light custodial duties as needed to maintain a clean and
safe environment. Interact professionally with the public and other
Park District employees. Wear a Park District-approved uniform
while on duty. Attend required in-service staff meetings. Follow,
administer, and implement Glencoe Park District policies,
procedures, and guidelines. Report any violations of Park District
rules or regulations to the Program Manager for Athletics, Fitness,
and Teen Camps. Comply with all Park District safety rules,
regulations, and policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the
supervisor, department head, and/or Executive Director. Physical
Demands: The considerations described below are representative of
those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of the Takiff Center Attendant position.

walk for extended periods of time. The position requires handling
medium-weight materials or equipment requiring limited effort.
Hours: This position is primarily scheduled for early weekday
mornings (5:15 8:30 AM) and weekends (7:00 AM 5:00 PM). Due to the
nature of park district programming, evening, weekend, and some
holiday hours may be expected. Pay Scale: This is a part-time,
non-exempt (hourly) position. The intended starting pay for this
position is $20 per hour, with a full pay scale ranging from $19
per hour to $30 per hour. Final compensation will be determined in
good faith based on an evaluation of the candidate's
qualifications, experience, and the recommendation of the Program
Manager - Athletics, Fitness, and Teen Camps, or the Department
