We are currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator . This is a 12-hour shift (8am – 8pm, 8pm – 8am) with every other weekend rotation. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with psychiatric assessments, insurance verification and pre-authorization, patient intake processes, and crisis intervention. Qualified candidates must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment and should be able to remain calm and execute proper judgement under pressure. Additionally, successful candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively and quickly build rapport with patients in the midst of a mental health crisis while also stabilizing them when necessary. Duties : Pre-screen patients in psychiatric crisis Assist in coordinating intake of psychiatric patients Verify patient’s insurance eligibility Obtain insurance prior authorization for inpatient stay Complete legal documents for psychiatric admission Utilize intervention strategies through clinical assessments Formulate a plan of care based on the psychosocial needs of patients Manage all relevant documentation appropriately Recommend community referrals as needed Job Requirements: Knowledge on insurance verification is a must Knowledge on patient intake process and experience is preferred At least 1 year of experience in crisis intervention Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field required LPC/LSW/LCPC preferred Thorek is an Equal Opportunity Employer
