Join our healthcare team and make a difference in cardiac and stroke patient outcomes while enjoying all that South Bend has to offer. /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Job Details/n/n /n/t - Location: South Bend, IN 46601 (Indiana nursing jobs) /n/t - Unit: 7th Floor Intermediate Cardiac/Stroke Unit /n/t - Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) /n/t - Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract /n/t - Start Date: February 16, 2026 /n/t - Shifts: 3x12 Hour Days (07:00 - 19:30) /n/t - Hours per Week: 36 /n/t - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend /n/t - Patient Ratio: 1:5 /n/t - Charting System: Cerner /n/t - Scrub Color: Royal Blue or White /n /n/nRegistered Nurse Qualifications/n/n /n/t - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state; pending accepted, must be active prior to start) /n/t - Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or stroke nursing experience (2 years preferred) /n/t - Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS /n/t - Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and response (must pass Tele Rhythm Identification Quiz) /n/t - Experience managing cardiac drips (Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix) /n/t - Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed /n/t - Experience with Cerner electronic charting /n/t - Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of South Bend, Indiana /n /n/nCardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities/n/n /n/t - Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced intermediate cardiac/stroke unit /n/t - Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition /n/t - Administer and titrate cardiac drips according to protocols /n/t - Care for patients requiring hemodialysis (HD performed by external provider) /n/t - Provide all modes of oxygenation except mechanical ventilation /n/t - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Services /n/t - Float to similar units within the hospital or affiliated Indiana healthcare facilities as needed /n/t - Maintain professional conduct and adhere to hospital and nursing policies /n /n/n Ready to take your nursing skills on the road?
