This position supports the work of Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Branch Director at the Greater Green Bay YMCA stewards the Y's cause, promoting and protecting the brand and reputation as a global, inclusive organization within the community. The Branch Director oversees the operation of the Y and participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, and collaboration with community stakeholders.OUR CULTURE:

  • Build bridges within the community so that all segments of society have access to the Y.
  • Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y's impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, community leaders) develops positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
  • Prepares and manages the center budget, uses a process so that resources are devoted to top priorities and strategic objectives. Ensure operating budgets meet or exceed targets. Engage center management team in the development of the budget and priorities.
  • Develops and directs high quality member engagement strategies and programs which support branch and association goals and strategies. Establishes plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA objectives and the leadership team.
  • Provides leadership for the annual campaign and other financial development activities of the branch.
  • Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff in all center departments.
  • Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment.
  • Develops and maintains contacts in the community with business and civic leaders.
  • Act according to facility protocol to ensure safety of all staff, children and volunteers which includes:
    • Follow employees and volunteers screening requirements and use screening tools to screen for abuse risk.
    • Provide employees and volunteers with on-going supervision and training related to abuse risk.
    • Provide employees and volunteers with regular feedback regarding their boundaries with children.
    • Require employees and volunteers to adhere to policies and procedures related to abuse risk.
    • Respond quickly to policy and procedure violations using the organization's progressive disciplinary procedures.
    • Respond seriously and confidentially to reports of suspicious and inappropriate behaviors.
    • Follow mandated reporting requirements.
    • Communicate to all employees and volunteers the organization's commitment to protect children from abuse.
    • Report essential abuse risk management information to Director of Human Resources.COMPETENCIES:

        • Model our YMCA values through fun, positive relationships with staff and members. Seek every opportunity to encourage, motivate and thank fellow staff members for their work.
        • Be enthusiastic toward members and staff by learning their names and expressing an interest in their YMCA activities. Strive to enrich their YMCA experience by introducing them to new programs, staff, members and volunteer activities.

        • Other duties as assigned byChief Operating Officer.QUALIFICATIONS:
          • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent.
          • Two or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
          • Ability to direct total operations through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
          • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
            the community.
          • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
          • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
          • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

            • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
            • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
            • Variable work schedule with expectations of day, evening and weekend obligations.
            • At times, it may be required to travel to other centers in the Green Bay Association.This job description represents the major functions of the job but is not intended to be all inclusive.
