for a Civil and Structural Engineer. The Civil and Structural
Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and oversight of
all civil and structural elements of BIOFerm’s renewable energy
facilities. This role supports project development through detailed
design, permitting, construction support, and field coordination to
ensure safe, cost-effective, and durable infrastructure
solutions.The ideal candidate has experience in industrial or
energy project environments, with proficiency in site design,
foundations, concrete and steel structures, and civil
infrastructure planning. BIOFerm™ is a Wisconsin-based renewable
energy company specializing in turnkey anaerobic digestion and
biogas upgrading facilities. Our mission is to provide sustainable
and economical solutions for organic waste diversion, transforming
food waste, manure, biosolids, and other organic materials into
renewable natural gas (RNG), green energy, vehicle fuel, heat, and
organic products. Key Responsibilities: Develop and review civil
and structural design documents, including site layouts, grading
plans, foundations, and structural systems for process equipment
and buildings. Perform engineering analyses and calculations for
loads, foundations, and framing systems to ensure compliance with
applicable codes and standards. Prepare and review construction
drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation. Coordinate
with internal engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and
process) to integrate civil and structural designs into complete
project packages. Conduct site evaluations to assess geotechnical
conditions, drainage, and constructability considerations. Support
permitting and regulatory submittals by preparing drawings,
calculations, and technical documentation. Work with project
managers to establish schedules, budgets, and scopes of work for
assigned tasks. Provide technical support during construction,
including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and
performing site inspections. Ensure structural and civil work meets
safety, quality, and environmental standards. Collaborate with
external engineering firms, contractors, and vendors to align on
design requirements and resolve issues efficiently. Participate in
value engineering efforts to optimize cost, constructability, and
performance. Travel to project sites as needed for inspections,
construction support, and client coordination. Complete additional
tasks as assigned. Competencies & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). 3–7
years of relevant experience in industrial, renewable energy, or
infrastructure projects and modular design. Professional Engineer
(PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure within a
reasonable timeframe. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and
structural analysis/design software (e.g., RISA, STAAD, or
similar). Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards
(IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, ASTM). Experience with concrete
foundations, steel framing, and site development for process
facilities. Familiarity with stormwater management, grading, and
erosion control design. Ability to work effectively in a
multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability
to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Willingness to travel
up to 15%. Valid U.S. driver’s license. Valid authorization to work
in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship. Compensation &
