Exemption Status Nonexempt (Hourly) Pay $18-20 per hour- based upon
experience POSITION SUMMARY & OVERALL OBJECTIVES The Skilled Trades
Youth Coordinator will be working with young individuals aged
between 5 to 13 years old and adolescents aged 11 to 18 years old,
both within and outside of the school premises. The role of this
position is to introduce young people to construction careers
through interactive and hands-on activities and programs. The
coordinator will collaborate closely with other staff members to
plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate these activities and
programs for young people, with a particular focus on the needs and
interests of adolescents. The role will support cooperative efforts
across various school sites, multiple Boys & Girls Club sites, and
the McKenzie Regional Workforce Center. Typically, this position's
work hours are midday to evening hours, and it may involve
additional daytime hours for early-release and non-school days, as
well as evenings and weekends for special events. The coordinator
will be required to travel between different locations. The Youth
Coordinator is also expected to be flexible and adaptable, taking
on other duties assigned to support the organization's overall
objectives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Planning and
Development Implementation 30% - Planning and implementing
developmentally appropriate, engaging activities for school-age
youth (5-13 years of age) utilizing CareerForce Build UP! and Boys
& Girls Clubs of America Curriculum as needed. - Collaborating with
program partners to facilitate construction discussions for
students, demonstrations, and construction-related programmatic
activities in local schools and organizations around Dane County as
assigned. - Implementation of grant-funded programs and outcomes as
assigned. - The position may require you to join in the
transportation of students if needed. Maintain Safe Environment 30%
- Ensuring the safety of members and the environment through sight
and sound supervision and maintenance of equipment. - Maintaining
an environment that is supportive to volunteers and supports
partnerships with community organizations in alignment with Boys &
Girls Clubs of America, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dane County, and
other applicable regulatory bodies. - Responsible for making sure
all classrooms are prepped for class and cleaned up afterward in
preparation for next-day activities. Prepare Youth for Success 30%
- Providing positive guidance, role modeling, and daily support to
members under the guidance of the Program Director. - Create an
environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development
Outcomes that foster inclusivity and support members' needs. Ensure
Professional Work Environment 10% - aintain an environment that
supports volunteers and community partners. - Contributing to the
Club climate for youth development includes program collaboration,
attendance, and active participation in staff meetings and training
(daily, weekly, and organizational). - Maintain a professional
appearance and communicate professionally to effectively represent
the Boys & Girls Clubs brand. Additional Responsibilities: -
Participate in special programs and events as assigned by
supervisor. - The Program Director may assign other duties as
appropriate to support the CareerForce Build UP! program. BUDGET
RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for fiscal stewardship of
organizational and grant-provided funds. RELATIONSHIPS Internal: As
an integral part of our team, you will maintain close, daily
contact with Club staff (both professional and volunteer), Club
members, and your supervisor. This continuous communication ensures
the seamless exchange of information, facilitates discussions on
pertinent issues, clarifies guidelines and instructions, provides
instruction and guidance, and offers counseling when necessary.
External: Externally, you will maintain contact as needed with
various community groups, schools, members' parents, and other
stakeholders to foster collaborative relationships and assist in
resolving any arising issues. By actively engaging with these
external partners, you contribute to creating a supportive network
and ensuring the well-being of our members within the broader
community. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - At least one-year
prior experience delivering curriculum to youth ages 5-18 years of
age. - The ability and desire to work with youth and adolescents in
many settings. - Experience working in a construction environment,
skilled trades, or career program is a plus. - Bilingual Candidates
(Spanish Language) are highly encouraged to apply. - Flexibility,
adaptability, and desire to work in a team environment. - Strong
verbal, written, and communication skills. Working conditions &
Physical demands Ability to read and interpret documents such as
safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals. The
ability to clearly and concisely exchange/receive ideas, facts,
and/or technical information with others. Ability to visually
monitor the activities of club members. The employee must be able
to perform CPR or first aid. The employee must use hands to handle
or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently
stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, jump, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee may
occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Activities occur in an

Education and Experience - At least 21 years of age - High School
Diploma/GED/HSED required - Candidates must meet the requirements
of a formal background check, drug screen test and driver
background check. - The ability to travel throughout Dane County.
Must have a valid Driver’s License (NO Probationary License- Must
be Class D) and insurance if using a personal vehicle. Required
Hours - Must be available 12pm-8:30pm Monday-Friday. Typical
working hours, including required holidays and travel.This position
is classified as non-exempt and full-time regular, requiring
availability during operational hours (typically 12pm-8:30pm
academic yr) to fulfill the essential duties of the role, which
will include working on holidays, weekends, and evenings as
necessary to support events. The position requires travel to
off-site Clubs, meetings, and events. Compensation details: 18-20
